Charge-ordered resonating valence bond states in doped cuprates

چکیده
We study charge ordered d-wave resonating valence bond states sdRVBd in the doped cuprates, and estimate the energies of these states in a generalized t-J model by using a renormalized mean-field theory. The longrange Coulomb potential tends to modulate the charge density in favor of the charge ordered RVB state. The possible relevance to the recently observed 434 checkerboard patterns in tunneling conductance in high-Tc cuprates is discussed.

Bosonic Resonating-Valence-Bond Description of a Doped Antiferromagnet
We propose a theory for a doped antiferromagnet based on the bosonic resonating-valence-bond (RVB) description incorporating the phase string effect. Both antiferromagnetic and superconducting phase transitions occur naturally inside such a bosonic RVB phase. Two distinct metallic regions— underdoping and optimum doping—are also found to be a logical consequence; their unique features explain t...
متن کاملResonating Valence Bond Mechanism of Impurity Band Superconductivity in Diamond
Superconductivity in an uncompensated boron doped diamond, a very recent observation, is strikingly close to an earlier observation of Anderson-Mott insulator to metal transition, prompting us to suggest an electron correlation driven superconductivity in an impurity band. Random coulomb potential remove a three fold orbital degeneracy of boron acceptor states, resulting in an effective single,...
متن کاملd-Wave Superconductivity, Orbital Magnetism, and Unidirectional Charge Order in the t–J Model
Recent scanning tunneling microscopy in the superconducting regime of two different cuprate families revealed unidirectional bond-centered modulation in the local electronic density of states. Motivated by this result we investigate the emergence of modulated d-wave superconductivity coexisting with charge domains that form along one of the crystal axes. While detailed stripe profiles depend on...

Resonating valence bond states in a doped Mott insulator was proposed to explain superconductivity in cuprates in January 1987 by Anderson. A challenging task then was proving existence of this unconventional mechanism and a wealth of possibilities, with a rigor acceptable in standard condensed matter physics, in a microscopic theory and develop suitable many body techniques. Shortly, a paper...

Resonating valence bond (RVB) states are suitable candidates for ground state of the Heisenberg model on various two dimensional lattices. When a singlet valence bond is broken to produce a triplet state, the resulting excitation is called a triplon. In this paper, we obtain formulas for the overlap and also matrix elements of si.sj operator between states with arbitrary number of triplons . ...
